Recently, Azqa Haroon had the chance to experience the newly opened Al Fayrouz Terrace at Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay — a serene, ladies-only sanctuary that beautifully blends Levantine flavours with elegance, privacy, and soulful warmth.
First impressions
Perched on the first floor of the hotel, Al Fayrouz Terrace immediately feels like a hidden retreat in the heart of the city. The moment I stepped in, the atmosphere shifted — soft lighting, graceful details, and a quiet beauty that invites you to leave the world outside.
The space is intimate and calm, designed entirely around women: a place to gather with friends, unwind after a long day, or simply enjoy an evening wrapped in a sense of exclusivity. It feels sophisticated without being intimidating, and warm without losing its refined charm.
Ambiance and experience
There is a gentle hush to the terrace — a serenity that instantly relaxes you. The décor draws inspiration from Levantine aesthetics, with earthy tones, textured surfaces, and subtle touches that echo the region’s heritage.
The staff adds to the experience with their polished service and graceful hospitality. Every interaction feels thoughtful yet unobtrusive, allowing you to fully enjoy the moment.
A modern celebration of Levantine flavours
Appetisers
The culinary journey begins with an impressive lineup of reimagined Levantine classics.
The Guacamole Muhammara was the perfect marriage of creamy and smoky — a contemporary twist I didn’t realize I needed. The Crispy Aubergine and Zucchini offered a satisfying crunch, light yet flavourful, while the Crispi Bizri Fish added a hint of coastal nostalgia with its delicate crispiness and well-balanced seasoning.
Each appetiser felt familiar yet elevated, honouring tradition while embracing modernity.

Mains
The mains continued the momentum with bold, comforting flavours.
The Chicken Shawarma was tender and aromatic, seasoned beautifully with spices that linger without overwhelming. The Beef Tenderloin offered a refined richness — juicy, well-rested, and paired with accompaniments that rounded the dish into a standout main course.
Both dishes reflect the kitchen’s ability to elevate everyday Levantine staples with precision and creativity.
Desserts
Dessert is where the experience turns indulgent.
The Kunefe arrived golden and irresistible, its delicate crunch giving way to a velvety, sweet centre. It’s a classic done exceptionally well. The Um Ali — a Qatari favourite — was comforting, creamy, and warm, the kind of dessert that carries the essence of home.
A sweet ending that stays with you well after the last bite.
A sanctuary for women in the city
Al Fayrouz Terrace is more than just a dining venue — it is a thoughtful space created for women to relax, reconnect, and indulge in the flavours of the Levant. Privacy is seamlessly woven into the experience, and the setting encourages long conversations, unhurried moments, and genuine comfort.
As Georges Saade, director of food & beverage, shared, the vision was to craft “a private retreat where women can experience genuine hospitality in a space that reflects elegance, culture, and serenity.” The venue delivers exactly that.
Final thoughts
Al Fayrouz Terrace is a beautiful addition to Doha’s dining landscape — refined, soulful, and distinctly welcoming. Whether you’re planning a quiet afternoon escape or a glamorous evening with friends, the terrace promises an experience that blends cultural richness with Waldorf Astoria’s signature luxury.
