Qatar Tourism and Visit Qatar closed 2025 on a high note, cementing the nation’s status as a year-round tourism destination. Total visitor arrivals reached 5.1 million, a 3.7% increase from the previous year, highlighted by 674,000 visitors in December alone, a near 16% rise compared to December 2024. The growth was driven by high-profile international events, including the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™.
The hospitality sector delivered robust performance, with 10.8 million room nights sold, up 8.6% year-on-year, and total accommodation revenue reaching QR 8.3 billion, a 12% increase from 2024.
Qatar’s tourism achievements were underpinned by strategic partnerships and integrated marketing. Over 35 global partnerships were activated, supported by 95 marketing campaigns across 19 international markets. The Qatar Calendar hosted more than 600 events, while the MICE sector attracted over one million international business visitors and secured 14 international event bids for 2026 and 2027. Doha’s designation as GCC Tourism Capital 2026 further solidified the country’s regional leadership.
Service excellence remained a priority, with the Taste of Qatar programme inspecting 800 restaurants nationwide and awarding approximately 150 with 3-Star certification, alongside the continued growth of the MICHELIN Guide Doha. Workforce development also advanced, with over 55,600 Qatar Host and 13,000 Qatar Specialist programme completions since 2022.
Digital innovation and operational readiness strengthened tourism delivery. Hayya processed nearly one million e-visa applications and supported major events with 1.1 million ticket scans during the FIFA Arab Cup, with zero critical disruptions. Cruise tourism also expanded, with 72 cruise calls scheduled for the 2025–2026 season.
These results position Qatar Tourism and Visit Qatar to build on sustainable growth and service excellence in 2026, advancing long-term economic value in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
