As Qatar rolls out its unified 2026 events calendar, a jam-packed year of sports, culture and business lies ahead. From world-class tournaments to festivals and conferences, these are the 2026 must-see events in Qatar:

  • Qatar ExxonMobil Open (Feb 16–21) 

Doha’s premier men’s tennis tournament (an ATP 500 event) returns with the world’s top players. Tennis fans from across the region flock to Khalifa Tennis Complex for high-stakes matches in Doha’s winter season, boosting sports tourism and showcasing Qatar’s role as a tennis hub. 

  • Qatar TotalEnergies Open (Feb 8–14)

  • MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix (Apr 10–12) 

The 2026 MotoGP season kicks off at Lusail International Circuit under the desert night sky. As “the road ahead” for MotoGP racing, this high-octane event draws motorcycle racing fans globally, with riders like Marc Márquez (2025 winner) battling it out. It’s a full-throttle spectacle for thrill-seekers and motorsport enthusiasts. 

  • Formula 1 Qatar Airways Grand Prix (Nov 27–29) 

The F1 championship comes to Doha for three nights of speed and spectacle. Thousands of Formula 1 fans will race into the stands at Lusail Circuit to experience the thrill of world-class drivers. The event boosts tourism and cements Qatar as a host of premier international motorsport. 

  • Wanda Diamond League – Doha (May 8) 

Doha hosts the Diamond League in athletics, bringing the world’s fastest runners and elite field athletes. This one-day meet is part of the global track-and-field series; it attracts sports fans regionally and offers residents a chance to see record-breaking performances live on home soil. 

Festivals & culture 

  • Marmi 2026 – Intl. Falcons & Hunting Festival (Jan 1–24) 

Qatar’s largest falconry festival returns to the Sealine desert. In this traditional event, falconers compete in authentic desert challenges, blending heritage with modern sport. It draws local and international falconry enthusiasts, celebrating Qatar’s age-old cultural practice and offering visitors a unique glimpse into Bedouin heritage. 

  • Qatar International Food Festival (Jan 14–24) 

Doha’s streets and plazas come alive with global flavours and family fun. As the nation’s largest culinary celebration, QIFF features food zones, live cooking demos and cultural shows. It attracts foodies and families alike, highlighting Qatar’s hospitality and diverse cuisine – from gourmet street food to fine dining – making it a feast for residents and tourists. 

  • Art Basel Qatar (Feb 5–7) 

Inaugurating Doha’s first edition of the famed Art Basel fair, this landmark event brings world-class galleries, artists and collectors to the Middle East. It establishes Qatar as a major art hub: visitors can browse international contemporary art exhibitions and attend talks, enriching the cultural scene. Its debut is expected to draw global art-world attention and launch new opportunities for local artists. 

  • Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (Jan 29–Feb 4) 

Qatar’s premier luxury fair returns, showcasing top jewellery, watches and emerging designers. As a key platform for cultural exchange, it attracts high-end buyers and collectors regionally. Visitors can admire rare timepieces and jewels while Qatar’s luxury market gains international visibility.  

  • Qatar Balloon Festival (Dec 2025 – early Jan 2026) 

(Continuing its winter run) the 6th Qatar International Hot Air Balloon Festival offers dazzling night glow and family activities at Brouq Nature Reserve. Colourful balloons and fireworks create a festive atmosphere, underscoring Qatar’s winter celebrations and drawing both residents and tourists for outdoor fun. 

  • Katara Music & Arts Season (Ongoing)  

Katara Cultural Village will host multiple concerts and cultural showcases in 2026, from Arabic music nights to international performances. These events (e.g. Khaleeji concerts, international orchestras) provide residents and visitors rich entertainment year-round, contributing to Qatar’s reputation as a cultural crossroads. For example, global stars like Russell Peters (comedy) and Wael Kfoury (Arabic pop) are already slated to appear. 

Business & innovation 

  • Polo AlMarsa (Dec 11–13, 2025) 

Though kicked off late 2025, this first-ever polo tournament at Old Doha Port set the stage for an annual event. It mixed world-class polo matches with fashion and entertainment, promoting Doha’s waterfront district. As a high-society event, it drew regional elite and visitors for an elegant weekend, showcasing Qatar’s lifestyle offerings. 

  • PSI Conference: Qatar Plastica 2026 (Jan 14–17)  

Doha hosts this international plastic surgery conference at Le Royal Méridien. Surgeons and aesthetic specialists gather to share innovations in cosmetic medicine. For Qatar, Plastica highlights its growing medical-tourism sector; local residents and Gulf patients benefit from exposure to world-class expertise and new treatments. 

  • Web Summit Qatar 2026 (Feb 1–4)  

The global tech conference returns for its third year in Doha. At DECC, thousands of entrepreneurs, startups and tech leaders gather to network and showcase innovations. The event bolsters Qatar’s goal to become a regional tech hub. providing learning opportunities for local students and professionals and signalling Doha’s rising profile in the tech world. 

  • Qatar Economic Forum (May 12–14)  

Powered by Bloomberg, QEF 2026 brings together heads of state, CEOs and financial leaders. This high-level business summit (at a venue TBA) features discussions on global economic challenges and investments, raising Qatar’s prominence in global finance. For residents and business visitors, it means access to world-class debates and networking with decision-makers, supporting Qatar’s economic growth strategy. 

  • Milipol Qatar 2026 (Oct 20–22) 

The biennial homeland security and civil defense exhibition returns to DECC. Milipol Qatar attracts thousands of security professionals from over 100 countries, showcasing the latest in defense tech and policy. It underscores Qatar’s role as a regional security forum; residents witness cutting-edge demonstrations, while government and industry leaders forge partnerships that enhance national and regional safety.
