Qatar Happenings is a Qatar-focused news and media platform documenting the country’s evolving social, cultural, and business landscape. Its editorial approach prioritises substance, insight, and editorial integrity.

With nearly three decades of global hospitality experience, Petr Pisecky steps into his role as General Manager of Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, bringing a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to one of Qatar’s most expansive leisure destinations. A Czech national, Pisecky began his journey as a waiter apprentice and rose through the ranks across six countries, with over 20 years at Hilton. His career spans leadership roles in China, Australia, the UAE, and the Czech Republic, most recently leading the pre-opening of a Hilton property in Riyadh.
As the resort continues to evolve as a premier destination for leisure, adventure, and family experiences, Qreate got the chance to speak with him about his vision, Qatar’s dining scene, and what lies ahead.

Qreate: Favourite venue to enjoy at your property and why?
Pisecky: Dinner at Levantine’s outdoor seating at the Arabian Village square. The setting in the middle of the village, combined with lush greenery and surrounding Arabian architecture, makes it truly special.

Qreate: What is your take on Qatar’s culinary scene?
Pisecky: I am very happy with the diversity of offerings and the wide range of choices. It becomes even more exciting when guest chefs visit and bring their creativity and expertise.

Qreate: What are some new things we can expect at your property for the new season?
Pisecky: A series of monthly outdoor events, including Cross-Fit boot camps, beach gyms, and vibrant beach festivals.

Qreate: Your insight on today’s market for hospitality?
Pisecky: It has become one of the most competitive industries. With advancements in technology and the growing spending power of today’s travellers, destinations and businesses must stay highly competitive, not just in pricing, but also in their overall offerings, with a strong focus on delivering value for money.

Qreate: If you weren’t part of the hospitality industry, what would you be doing?
Pisecky: That’s a tough one. I knew I wanted to work in hospitality since I was about 13 years old. I would still want to stay within the tourism industry, perhaps as a travel agent. When I was very young, I also wanted to be an actor.
