Azqa Haroon got the chance to experience The Terrace by 21 High Street Katara, a dining destination that effortlessly blends elevated comfort food, live music, and a beautifully relaxed atmosphere. From the moment you step in, it feels like the kind of place designed for slow evenings, good conversations, and indulgent meals enjoyed at an unhurried pace.
With both indoor and outdoor seating, the terrace setup is especially inviting, offering a cosy yet vibrant ambience. Live music adds a warm, soulful layer to the experience, setting the mood without overpowering conversations, making it ideal for relaxed dinners, casual celebrations, or a laid-back night out.
Appetisers that set the tone
The meal began with a thoughtfully curated Appetiser Platter, perfect for sharing. A colourful mix of crudités, guacamole, olives, assorted cheeses, nuts, figs, jam, tapioca crackers, and pesto labneh created a well-balanced spread of textures and flavours. Each element complemented the other, offering something light, creamy, crunchy, and indulgent in every bite.
The Roasted Tomato Salad followed, featuring goat cheese, fresh basil, thyme, and a balsamic dressing. Simple yet elegant, it delivered a refreshing contrast of acidity and creaminess, making it an excellent palate opener.
Another standout was the Fried Halloumi, coated with almonds and paired with a rich romesco sauce. Crispy on the outside and perfectly soft inside, it struck a satisfying balance between nuttiness and savoury depth.
The Shrimps Potato Croquette, filled with provolone cheese and served with plum tomato salsa, was comforting and flavourful. Golden and crisp, these croquettes offered a delightful mix of creamy, cheesy interiors and fresh, tangy notes from the salsa.

Main courses: Comfort classics with a premium touch
For mains, The Wagyu Entrecôte truly stood out. Cooked to perfection, the Grade 7–8 ribeye was juicy, tender, and full of flavour. Served with Café de Paris sauce, green salad, and French fries, it was a classic done right. rich yet balanced, indulgent without feeling heavy.
The Chicken Cordon Bleu offered another comforting highlight. The herb-marinated chicken breast, layered with smoked turkey, cheddar and provolone cheese, and served alongside creamy leeks and mashed potatoes, was hearty and satisfying. Each bite delivered warmth and familiarity, elevated through quality ingredients and careful execution.
For pasta lovers, the Rigatoni Pasta was a crowd-pleaser. Tossed with shimeji and oyster mushrooms, parmesan and pecorino cheese, and finished with truffle oil, it was creamy, aromatic, and deeply comforting — the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more.
A sweet finale
Dessert at The Terrace is not an afterthought; it’s a grand finale.
The Lotus Crepes were indulgent and comforting, filled with warm Lotus spread, banana, chantilly cream, and biscuit crumble, and paired with caramel ice cream. Sweet without being overpowering, it was a perfect balance of flavour and texture.
The Chocolate Crepes, layered with chocolate ganache, icing sugar, and chocolate chips, and topped with vanilla ice cream, delivered classic chocolate comfort done elegantly.
Equally impressive was the Ferrero Caramel Dome, featuring caramel sauce and hazelnut crumble, offering a rich, nutty indulgence that felt both playful and refined.
The Whipped Ganache, a signature fudge chocolate cake served with hot chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, was decadent, warm, and deeply satisfying, making it the ideal end to a well-rounded dining experience.
