The 120-minute Sharq Signature Ritual is inspired by the very essence of Qatar. The journey begins with body brushing, a ritual that awakens the skin and circulation, reminiscent of walking across the warm sands of the desert. Next comes a dead seed scrub, blended with the spa’s signature amber oil from Champs-Élysées Paris, leaving the skin luxuriously smooth.
Following this, a hydrating dead seed mud wrap cocooned me in deep nourishment, while I floated on a specially designed bed. During this floating bed relaxation, a gentle scalp massage with Argan hair serum enhanced the sense of weightlessness. The combination of the desert-inspired scrub and mud, the warm oils, and the floating experience set the stage for what would be a truly transformative journey.
The ultimate massage experience
After showering and rinsing off the mud wrap, I was invited to the next stage: a 75-minute massage unlike any I had experienced before. The therapists use heated crony shells, a porcelain-like tool that mimics the soothing touch of the sea. Deep tissue techniques are applied to the back, focusing on areas where tension tends to accumulate, while the arms and legs are treated using a floating combination of Balinese and Lomi Lomi massage techniques.
The sensation is extraordinary — your back melts under the warmth and pressure, while the limbs feel weightless, as if floating on gentle waves. Every movement, from the firm release of knots to the rhythmic, flowing strokes, is customised to the guest’s needs, creating a perfectly balanced treatment that leaves the body deeply relaxed yet energized.
Facial ritual: Cooling and rejuvenating
The ritual culminates with a luxurious facial and decollete treatment using rich Argan face serum applied alongside cold rose quartz crystals. The crystals, gently gliding across the skin, help reduce puffiness, improve lymphatic drainage, and leave the face glowing and refreshed. This step also mirrors the climatic contrasts of Qatar, offering a cooling touch that balances the day-to-night temperature shifts. The facial concludes with another soothing scalp massage, accompanied by the gentle sound of shells, echoing the spa’s seaside ambiance.
