This summer, Qatar is turning shopping destinations and hotels into exciting family playgrounds as Visit Qatar expands its Hala Summer campaign with a vibrant programme of activations running from 1 July to 30 September 2026. Designed to entertain residents and visitors alike, the initiative brings together live performances, beloved characters, interactive experiences and exclusive hotel stays, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading family destination during the summer months.

Entertainment beyond the shopping experience

Some of Qatar’s most popular destinations, including Mall of Qatar, Doha Festival City, Place Vendôme, Villaggio Mall, City Center Doha, Landmark Mall, Doha Mall, Hyatt Plaza, Al Hazm, Gewan Island and West Walk, will come alive with complimentary entertainment inspired by globally recognised family brands.

Visitors can take part in a variety of interactive challenges, from capsule and balloon machines to puzzle games, hanging challenges and stop-the-timer competitions. Along the way, participants will have the chance to win shopping vouchers and exciting prizes, adding another layer of fun to the shopping experience.

Meet favourite characters

Families can also look forward to meeting some of the most popular mascots from the Qatar Toy Festival, with scheduled character appearances taking place across participating malls, Gewan Island and West Walk throughout the summer.

Daily roaming entertainment and live family performances will keep visitors engaged, while September will introduce the Science Street Bike, an interactive roaming parade designed to bring science-themed fun and excitement to selected destinations.

Shop and win

Shopping enthusiasts will have even more reasons to visit throughout August during the Hala Summer Shopping Festival. Visitors spending QR 200 or more at participating destinations can redeem their receipts for an entry into the campaign’s grand raffle draw.

The promotion offers the chance to win a range of exciting prizes, including a grand prize car, which will be showcased at selected locations during the campaign.

Summer stays with a twist

Beyond the malls, participating hotels are introducing immersive family staycation experiences inspired by some of the world’s most beloved children’s entertainment brands.

Families can enjoy Transformers-themed experiences at Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha, The Smurfs at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, CoComelon at InterContinental Doha The City, and Hello Kitty and Friends at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. The themed stays combine character encounters, immersive entertainment and specially designed rooms, creating memorable escapes for guests of all ages.

A season designed for families

Complementing the activations is the Kids Go Free campaign, allowing children under the age of 12 to enjoy complimentary benefits across selected hotels, restaurants and attractions through participating offers.
