With over 25 years of international hospitality experience, Emre Kocamustafaogullari has positioned Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha as a benchmark for service excellence, innovation, and sustainability in the region. Known for his people-first leadership and strategic vision, Emre has played a key role in enhancing both guest experiences and workplace culture, while driving the hotel’s continued evolution in Doha’s dynamic hospitality landscape. Qreate had the opportunity to speak with him about his perspective on the industry, the property’s offerings, and what lies ahead.

Qreate: Favourite venue to enjoy at your property and why?
Kocamustafaogullari: My favourite venue is the gym. It’s a place of energy and balance where guests can recharge and embrace wellness, which is increasingly important in hospitality. The gym reflects our commitment to holistic experiences, and I enjoy seeing how it enhances the guest journey. It’s a space that truly embodies our philosophy of wellbeing alongside comfort.

Qreate: What is your take on Qatar’s culinary scene?
Kocamustafaogullari: It is exciting to see well-known international brands in Doha, making the dining scene more interesting. At Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, we proudly contribute to 15 outlets. Guests can enjoy live teppanyaki at Sakura, singing servers at The Italian Job, soulful ghazal evenings at Chingari, authentic curries at Bombay Balti, refined Chinese flavours at Ruby Wu’s, and the finest steakhouse dining at Bentley’s Grill. Together, they create a culinary journey under one roof that sets us apart in Doha’s vibrant food scene.

Qreate: What are some new things we can expect at your property for the new season?
Kocamustafaogullari: This season, we’re introducing a comprehensive vacation package designed to give guests everything they’re looking for. From energising workouts in the gym and relaxing massages, to poolside leisure, diverse dining experiences, and live entertainment, the package blends wellness with indulgence. For business travelers, our meeting spaces ensure productivity is seamlessly integrated with comfort. Whether guests come for leisure or work, the package offers a complete journey, balancing relaxation, entertainment, and professional needs, all under one roof.

Qreate: Your insight on today’s market for hospitality?
Kocamustafaogullari: Hospitality today is driven by experiences. Guests want personalisation, wellness, and authentic cultural engagement beyond traditional luxury. In Qatar, the challenge is balancing international standards with nurturing local talent. Investing in training and empowering local professionals is vital to building a resilient industry that competes globally while staying rooted in local culture. Those who adapt to evolving expectations will thrive in this dynamic market.

Qreate: If you weren’t part of the hospitality industry, what would you be doing?
Kocamustafaogullari: If I weren’t in hospitality, I would be in real estate development. I’ve always been fascinated by how spaces can inspire people, whether hotels, homes, or communities. Hospitality and real estate share a common thread, both create environments where people connect and thrive. My passion for building experiences would naturally translate into shaping properties that leave a lasting impact. In many ways, managing a hotel is already a form of real estate development, but with the added magic of service.
