Marriott Marquis City Center Doha has appointed Chef Piero Nogaro to lead Cucina, bringing more than 30 years of international culinary experience and a deep-rooted connection to Italian cuisine to the hotel’s signature restaurant.
Born in Milan and the son of a Michelin-starred chef, Chef Piero began his culinary career in Italy, including experience at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant of acclaimed chef Gualtiero Marchesi. His career has since taken him across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and beyond, with senior culinary roles in Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Morocco, the Maldives, Jordan and Norway, as well as consulting projects in cities including London, Zurich, Hong Kong and New York.
His appointment also marks a return to Doha, where he previously worked during his international career. At Cucina, Chef Piero will draw on his Italian heritage and global experience to shape the restaurant’s culinary direction, combining traditional techniques and flavours with a contemporary approach.
For Chef Piero, the new role represents a return to the cuisine that has been central to his life and career. His philosophy centres on authentic ingredients, traditional Italian techniques and the warmth and generosity associated with Italian hospitality.
The appointment marks a new chapter for Cucina as the restaurant continues to develop its Italian dining offering in Doha, with Chef Piero bringing his extensive experience and personal connection to Italian cuisine to the kitchen.
